Um, were you like, frying eggs and the towel was near the burner?
Actually I was making stovetop coffee in a percolator. It started to boil over so I grabbed a towel to lift it off/clean it up, and a corner got stuck on the burner and FWOOOOOSSSHHH!
I didn't need the coffee all that much afterwards, because that certainly woke me up.
